How does it happen that in my mind's eye I can see the floral wallpaper on the wall that no longer exists..and even though she has been gone many years I can feel the warmth and smell the sweetness of my mom as I lean against her and drift off to sleep. Dad's twinkling blue eyes and deep laughter still bring a smile to my face. I can still hear the barking of our little dog that played in the yard with us. The honeysuckle nodding outside my bedroom window still makes my nose twitch from the sweet aroma. The little dog now romps with others in a far away land and for many years my mom and dad have been reunited in a place of paradise.
